Robert Edward Seekins, 73, of Traverse City passed away March 24, 2018.
Robert was born on September 13, 1944 in Appleton, WI to the late James and Alice (Faevel) Seekins. On October 12, 1974 Robert married Kathy A. Hujet in Green Bay, WI.
Bob served our country honorably as a member of the United States Coast Guard. He was the Chief Yeoman for many years. He retired after 23 years of dedicated service. In 1980 he and Kathy moved to Traverse City to raise their family.
Bob was a member of St. Francis Catholic Church. He was an animal lover and had many cherished dogs. In his spare time he enjoyed putting puzzles together and completing word search. He was a huge Green Bay Packers fan. Above all else, Bob cherished his family.
Bob is survived by his wife of 43 years, Kathy; their children Stephaine (Ron) Baker, Nicole (Glen) Fogle, James(Candy) and Sean; grandchildren Michael, Beth, Brandon, Ronnie, Candice, Kayla, Breanna, Brett and Emily; great grandchildren Damian, Makayla, Gabrielle, Harper and Landon; and siblings Carl Seekins, Joe Seekins and Jaci Pozolinski.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents and brother Russell.
The memorial service celebrating Bob's life will be held on Monday, March 26, 2018 at 11:00 am with visitation beginning at 10:30 am. He will receive military honors from the VFW Cherryland Post #2780.
Bob will be laid to rest at the Peninsula Township Cemetery.
Memorial contributions in his honor may be directed to the Cherryland Humane Society.
