Robert 'Bob' Truax

March 1, 1955 — July 16, 2019

Robert William Truax, 64, of Traverse City, passed away July 16, 2019 with his fiancée by his side.
Bob was born on March 1, 1955 to the late William and Marilyn (Nelson) Truax in Detroit.
For over 45 years Bob was in the landscaping business, of which 30 he successfully owned and ran his own business. After retiring his green thumb, he went on to have a 17-year career with Bill Marsh as the Facility Manager. He took pride in making sure the outside landscape was pristine and even up until the end was placing calls to remind people to water and fertilize the recently planted trees.
Bob was well known for all his selfless acts of kindness, his love of fishing, his passion for the outdoors and the exploration of travel and new restaurants. He was the team captain in high school for swimming, and a self-proclaimed badminton champion.
Tragically he was diagnosed with brain cancer in February and was unable to walk the aisle with his fiancée, Nancy Stout. Although the magic was missed with the wedding, they decided to enjoy traveling to Alaska to celebrate their honeymoon.
He is survived and missed dearly by his fiancée, his family friends Mike and Kerry Marsh, Cindy McCort, Kevin Dillon, his entire Bill Marsh automotive extended family, and many other dear friends and family members.
He is preceded in death by his wife Gail, his parents and his faithful and beloved four-legged German Shepard.
A funeral mass to celebrate his life will take place on Wednesday July 24, 2019 at 11:00am at St. Patrick Catholic Church with visitation one-hour prior.
