Robert "Bob" Wayne Sanborn, 83, of Traverse City, passed away Friday October 8, 2021 in the comfort of his home with his family at his side.

Bob was born on March 17, 1938 in Lansing, Michigan to Irene Tilley. He married Karen Korb on May 29, 1965 in Traverse City. Together they raised three children.

Bob retired from Grand Traverse County Central Dispatch.

In his spare time he enjoyed golfing, hunting, fishing, and especially rock collecting in Lake Superior. He also enjoyed attending all his children's and grandchildren's many sporting events.

Bob is survived by his wife Karen, his children, Corey Sanborn (Wendy Plowman), Brandon (Amber) Sanborn, Jaime (Joe) Esper, grandchildren Kristolyn Stafford, Nate Lentz, Collin and Tatum Sanborn, Avery, Drew and Luke Esper, great-grandson Robert, his siblings, twin brother Ronald Sanborn, Sue (Al) Rosinski, his brother-in-law Don (Linda) Korb, sister-in-law Kathy (Ed) Hessem and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Bob is preceded in death by his mother Irene and his sister-in-law Nancy Sanborn.
