Robert Lee Wildfong, 67 of Traverse City passed away on May 13, 2015 at Munson Hospice House after a courageous battle with cancer.
Bob was born on February 7, 1948 in Green Bay, WI to Edwin and Loula (Maddix) Wildfong.
On March 26, 1971 Bob married Elizabeth "Beth" A. McLellan in Bay City. Together they moved to the Traverse City area in 1977.
Bob served in the United States Marine Corp. Bob was a skilled contractor and specialized in custom siding. His work is displayed on many waterfront homes in the area. He was truly an artist at his craft. After his retirement Bob enjoyed working at Home Depot and Oryana Natural Food Market. Bob enjoyed traveling and going to NASCAR races. Many of his favorite times were being in his pole barn watching the race and sharing some PBRs. He also loved hanging out on the deck with his children, grandchildren and extended family. He loved cars especially his 1988 Jaguar. He was a very hard working, very fun loving husband, father and grandfather.
Bob is survived by his wife Beth of Traverse City, his daughter, Sari (Tim) Davis of Traverse City; son James (Ariel) Wildfong of San Diego, CA; daughter, Teresa Molano of Traverse City; and son, David Wildfong of Grand Rapids; grandchildren, Matthew, Jacob, Molly, Cameron, Matiana, Dajel, Ayla, and Addi; mother, Loula Wildfong; brother Dave (Lori) Wildfong of Traverse City, sister, Sharron Wildfong of Traverse City and brother Ronald Wildfong of Saginaw. Also surviving are many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Bob was preceded in death by his father Edwin, brother Michael, sister Terri DeMitchell and brother Richard.
A memorial service celebrating Bob's life will be held on Saturday, May 16, 2015 at 11:00 a.m., with visitation beginning at 10:00 am at the Reynolds Jonkhoff Funeral Home, 305 Sixth Street Traverse City, MI, 49684. Pastor Bob Webster will officiate. .
