Obituary

TRAVERSE CITY — Robert John Windfield, 56, of Grawn, died Saturday, Jan. 8, 2011, at Munson Medical Center.Bob was born Friday, Nov. 5, 1954. For the last 16 years, he resided at West Shore AFC Homes in Grawn.Bob was a great guy. He never uttered a harsh word, never said an unkind thing to anyone. To know Bob was to love him. Everyone who came through the front door was greeted enthusiastically and Bob would tell the ladies how beautiful they were.Bob loved to help out around the house. Every task was pure delight. He especially loved shopping trips and breakfast at the Big Boy. His favorite pastime was sitting in his rocker on the porch with a good cup of coffee and a smoke. He often quoted the words on his coffee mug: "A Great Guy Deserves a Great Mug."Bob was deeply loved by his West Shore family and he will be missed.He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister.He is survived by a brother, Jim, and a sister, Flo.Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 13, at Reynolds-Jonkhoff Funeral Home, with visitation one hour prior. A lunch in Bob's honor will follow. Burial will be in Oakview Cemetery in Royal Oak.The family is being served by Reynolds-Jonkhoff Funeral Home, Traverse City.
