Roberta Ann Dean-Maue

Roberta Ann Dean-Maue, died at home on March 21, 2014 from complications of diabetes. She was born April 26, 1946 in Hastings, MI to the late Robert O. Dean and Ruth (Stewart) Dean. She graduated from Owosso High School, Albion College and later received a Masters Degree from Eastern Michigan University. She taught elementary school for over 30 years, the majority being in Mancelona. She was a strong believer in the value of education and was proud of the children she set on the right track. She had a passion for music, the arts, gardening, cooking and animals. She was always civic minded and well informed of global issues. Roberta was a supportive and caring sister and friend

Roberta is survived by three sisters; Deborah Harrison of Howell, Kimberly Dean-Valdez of Manchester, NH, and Darcy Dean of Grand Rapids. Also surviving are many nieces, nephews and close friends.

A memorial service honoring Roberta will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Friday, March 28, 2014 at the Reynolds-Jonkhoff Funeral Home, 305 Sixth St., Traverse City. Friends are welcome to visit one hour prior to the service.
