Rodney "Rod" R. Beeman, 70, of Grawn, passed away January 24, 2023.
Rod was born in Lansing on August 16, 1952, son to Gerald W. and Lois L. (Bennett) Beeman, both who precede him in death.
At a young age, Gerald and his family moved back to their roots in northern Michigan to help run the family Business, Beeman's Trucking and Bulldozing. Rod enjoyed waterskiing on Duck Lake and racing his beloved 1966 Buick Wildcat.
From age of 15 onward, Rod worked with his family. At first with his father and grandfather, then his brother Gary. He recently entrusted the future of the business solely to his brother Gary, son Jason and nephew Tod.
He married Christine Crain (affectionately known as "Ma") June 19, 1971. Love of family and earning an honest living were the pillars of his existence.
Rod leaves behind his wife, Christine "Ma" sons Jason (Michele), Travis (Sarah), Walter (Mackenzie) and Rodney Jr. (Catherine) Beeman; grandchildren Lauren (Branden), Brock, Ridge, Trent, Abigail "Stormy" (David), Courtney, Tessa, Travis Jr., Colton, Damien (Maddy), Gauge, Grace, Wyatt, Parker, Eleanor and Rodney III; great-grandchildren Dawson and Atlas; brother Gary (Donna) Beeman; nieces Tricia and Robin and favorite nephew Tod.
A memorial service will take place Saturday, February 4, 11:00 am at the Reynolds-Jonkhoff Funeral Home. Visitation will take place one hour prior to the service as well as the evening prior, on February 3, from 5-7 pm, also at the funeral home.
