Obituary

Rodney "Roc" William Biller, 59, of Mancelona, passed away March 23, 2026, at Munson Medical Center with his loving family at his side.

Roc was born on September 6, 1966, in Big Rapids, Michigan, to Robert and Patricia (London) Biller. As the son of a U.S. Army serviceman, Roc proudly considered himself an "Army brat," moving often throughout his childhood, including time in Germany and across Michigan. While living in Big Rapids, he enjoyed playing football and wrestling during his school years.

After high school, Roc worked various factory jobs before working as a taxi driver. He spent 17 years driving in Lansing and East Lansing, where he worked alongside his brother Bret. Together, they built a successful business serving the college community long before rideshare services existed.

On December 16, 2011, Roc married Brenda Kaye Kniss in Grand Ledge, Michigan. Together, they blended their families into one large, loving household filled with laughter, barbecues, and lasting memories.

For the past five years, Roc worked at Wayne Wire in Kalkaska as a second-shift inspector. He was well loved by his coworkers and known for his precision and skill. Roc took great pride in his work, carefully inspecting aircraft fuel filter components under a microscope, ensuring each piece met the highest standards.

Roc had a passion for music and truly loved all kinds. Movies also brought him great joy and could often predict the ending before it happened. He was an avid sports fan, especially devoted to Michigan football. He truly bled maize and blue. Known for his playful trash talk, his love of sports was matched only by his love for his family.

Above all, Roc cherished his grandchildren. He had a natural gift with children and was a devoted and loving grandfather. He also enjoyed building and creating, often able to design and plan projects in his mind with remarkable detail and precision. Roc loved hosting gatherings, collecting elephant figurines, and had a special place in his heart for his dogs. He especially loved his beloved Baylibel, who has now joined him in heaven. He also leaves behind Daisy Mae, Saydi Mae, and Brody Jr.

Roc will be remembered as a kind, generous man who could fix anything, welcomed everyone, a dog lover, and was deeply loved by many.

He is survived by his wife, Brenda; his dad Robert, his step-mom Sherry Balentine, his son, Richard (Aleigha) Montalvo; stepchildren, Korey (CJ) Totten and Kenna (Jordan) Spitzley; grandchildren, Julianna, William, Damien, Jaxon, Jasmine and Devyn; and his brothers, Rob (Ann) Biller, Bret (Danielle) Biller, Tom (Crystal) Martin, Jason (Ashely) Hays, and Dustin (Destiny) Hayes, his-in-laws Frank (Lauren) Moser and Kristine (Jimmy) Hoffman, his nieces, nephews, cousins, co-workers, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Patricia Biller; his brother, Steve Martin; and his beloved grandparents, Barbara and Richard William Biller, whom he cherished deeply and missed dearly.

Memorial contributions may be directed to St. Jude's Children's Hospital.

A gathering in Roc's honor will be held on April 13, 2026, at Cracker Barrel in Okemos from 5:00 to 8:00 PM.

A second celebration of his life will take place at the VFW Post #8684 in Kalkaska
408 Hyde St., Kalkaska 49646, April 18th from 3-5pm.
