Roger Rene Bolden, 86, of Traverse City died December 28, 2020 at the Grand Traverse Pavilions. Roger was born on October 17, 1934 in Petoskey to Walter and Lena Bolden.
Roger could fix just about anything and enjoyed working on trucks and cars. He was also a big NASCAR and Detroit Tigers fan. Roger retired from Consumers Energy in 1990 after18 years. He was active with the Old Mission Congregational Church and used his talent for over 40 years to help the neighborhood and community of Old Mission.
Roger is survived by his wife Barbara; children Deborah (Ron) Johnson, Melanie (Ed) Perfetto, Scott (Jennifer) Bolden; their mother Alma Leist, step children Margery (Terry) Loree, Scott (Teresa) Hess, Wendi (Brett) Barber, Bobbi (Chuck) Palmer; step daughter-in-law Diahn Miller Hess, brother Grant Bolden, "lots" of grandchildren (over 30) great grandchildren and many other family members and friends. Roger was preceded in death by his step son Michael Hess and granddaughter Melissa.
The family will plan to celebrate and honor Roger's life in the summer 2021. Memorial contributions in his honor may be directed to Boys Town or Old Mission Congregational Church.
