Roger Allen Schafer's Obituary
Roger Allen Schafer, 75, of Traverse City, passed away peacefully on October 4, 2025, at Medilodge of Traverse City.
Roger was born on July 7, 1950, in Saginaw, Michigan to the late Godfred and Rachel (Schneider) Schafer. Over the years, Roger has lived in Saginaw, MI; Ocala, Florida and Las Vegas, Nevada.
Roger worked in grocery supermarkets for much of his life. In his spare time, he enjoyed cheering for the Florida Gators, Detroit Red Wings and the Detroit Tigers. Roger was also an avid listener of 70's music, especially loving the bands The Eagles and the Doobie Brothers.
He is survived by his brothers, Daniel Schafer and Robert Schafer; his daughter Heidi Schafer; his granddaughter Kaci Schafer; adopted daughter Jenifer Schafer of Florida. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Roger was preceded in death by his parents, brother Richard Schafer and two sister-in-laws.
