Rollie Gene Gattshall, 84 of Traverse City, MI, formerly of Jackson MI, passed away peacefully with his wife at his side on Tuesday, November 12, 2013 at Munson Medical Center. Rollie was born on April 4, 1929 in North Baltimore, OH to the late Paul and Lena Gattshall.
Rollie is survived by his loving wife Edna, a son Rollie Bruce (Susan) Gattshall, 3 stepchildren; Kathey (Tom) Youker, Kevin (Janie) Chase and Jim (Kathi) Chase, a brother John (Marian) Gattshall, 6 grandchildren; Joel (Sarah) Chase, Brad Chase, Bryan Chase, Luke Chase, Christian Chase, Daniel Youker, and many nieces, nephews and friends who dearly loved him.
Rollie was a classic good guy, a reliable, open, honest man who found everyone interesting to talk to. He loved his family and friends and to be out in the woods. He was a long time member of Michigan Bow Hunters and the Deadstreamers Hunting Group. Rollie and Edna had many adventures together, each one traveling with their best friend.
A memorial service honoring Rollie will be held in Jackson sometime in December.
