Ronald "Ron"
Britton
October 31, 1939 – April 17, 2026
Ronald Frederick Britton of McBain Michigan, passed away on April 17, 2026. Ron was born on October 31, 1939 in Barryton, Michigan and graduated from Marion High School in Marion, Michigan. Upon graduation, he moved to Flint and was employed as a machinist for Buick, where he worked for 45 years. Upon retirement, he bought a home in McBain and lived happily surrounded by his rural community on the piece of land that he enjoyed until his passing.
Ron enjoyed gardening, hunting, fishing and snowmobiling, and loved attending auctions and wildlife banquets, which usually expanded his ever-growing gun collection. A true outdoorsman, he loved nothing more than riding his side by side with his beloved springer spaniel around back roads and on his property. He also enjoyed traveling and found himself in Alaska, Iowa, Colorado and Africa to fish and hunt. Ron surrounded himself with a large collection of taxidermy, displaying his success in hunting and serving as memories of his adventures.
Ron will be missed by the family he leaves behind, including two daughters, Tina (Bob) Britton and Angela (Greg) Harrant as well as grandchildren Alex (Emily) Harrant of Portage, Anna (Jake) Mathson of Traverse City, and Avery and Asher Lehman of Midland. Ron also had four great-grandchildren: Lyla, Elise, Dean and Clay. Ron had a special life-long friendship with the Niver and Veddler families of Marion.
His family will hold a private celebration of life near his hunting property in the summer of 2026.
