Ronald Milford Weiss, 80, of Traverse City , passed away in Zephyrhills, FL on Thursday, April 12, 2018 surrounded by his loving family.

Ron was born on Thursday, December 16, 1937 to the late Milton and Elizabeth (Donner) Weiss in Traverse City. He received his education here and then earned his Bachelors Degree from Western Michigan University. He served our country as a member of the U. S. Army Reserves. On Friday, August 18, 1961, he married Beverly A. Johnson in Traverse City.

He and Bev enjoyed camping with friends during the summer months. Ron looked forward to spending the winter months in Zephyrhills, Florida where he enjoyed playing shuffleboard and spending time with friends at Southern Charm RV park..

Ron owned and operated Northern Floor and Tile in Traverse City, a business begun by his wife's family. He was a long time member of Bayview Wesleyan Church where he was an usher and served on the board of trustees.

Survivors include his wife, Beverly; his children Gregory (Suzanne) Weiss and Barbara (Ronald) Larson, all of Traverse City. Also surviving are his grandchildren, Tyler (Marielle) Larson, Ashley (Caleb) Herrmann, Chris (Kelsey) Childers, Michelle (Brian) Dozeman; great grandchildren, Matthew and Jenna Dozeman, Charlotte Larson and Baby Herrmann and Baby Larson. Ron is also survived by his sister Dawn Ann Humphreys and a nephew Garrett Humphreys. He was preceded in death by his parents.

A memorial service celebrating Ron's life will take place Saturday April 28, 2018 at 11:00am at Bayview Wesleyan Church, 720 Wayne, Traverse City, with visitation beginning at 10:00am. Pastor Chris Emery will officiate with Pastor Jack Steenbergh assisting. Burial will be in Bingham Township Cemetery at a later date.
