Ronna Lee Griffin, 75, of Traverse City passed away on Tuesday, May 9, 2017 at Munson Medical Center.
Ronna was born on April 17, 1942 to Leroy and Birdena (Demmon) Bearss in Muskegon, MI. After high school Ronna attended beautician school in Muskegon and moved to Traverse City in 1965.
She was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church and facilitated a Woman's Bible Study at the church. Ronna was a very strong Christian and loved her Lord very much. She enjoyed reading, playing the piano, swimming, doing colored pencil art and especially baking. She was known for wonderful gifts of baked goods, especially during the holidays. She was a volunteer at Munson Hospital.
She is survived by her son Barry (Patricia Ballard) Griffin; daughter Tracy Mallowitz; brother Richard Bearss; granddaughter Rachel Griffin; Aunt June (Bearss) Wurtz; sister-in-law Jennifer Bearss; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents Leroy and Birdena (Demmon) Bearss and her brother Reverend Mac Bearss.
A Memorial Service for Ronna will be held Tuesday, May 30, 2017 at 2 p.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church in Traverse City, with visitation beginning at 1 p.m. A Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, June 1, 2017 at 2 p.m. at Saint Stevens Lutheran Church in Benona Township.
