Rory Alan Royston, 64, of Buckley, Michigan passed away peacefully on Monday, December 30, 2024 at his home. Rory was born on May 31, 1960 in Detroit, Michigan to the late William and Marcelyn (Bond) Royston. He married the love of his life, Veva Jerrils on July 29, 1982 in Toms River, New Jersey. In 1977, he joined the U.S. Marine Corps, proudly serving his country for 20 years and a day.
Following in his family's footsteps, Rory purchased land on Lake Gitchegumee in Buckley. He moved his family north permanently in the early 1990's. In 2001, Rory and Veva opened the doors of RRR Meat Processing. Bringing both of their kids, Ryan and Stephanie, on board a few years later.
In his spare time, Rory could be found outside, hunting, fishing and spending countless hours on his boat on Lake Michigan. When not on the water, he could be found in the "Sugar Shack", making maple syrup and apple cider. Above all, spending time with his family, especially his beloved grandchildren, was his greatest joy.
Rory is survived by his loving wife of 42 years, Veva, his son, Ryan (Jennifer) Royston, his daughter, Stephanie Snider and five grandchildren; Blake Royston, Wyatt Royston, Lucas Royston, Alyssa Royston and Olivia Snider.
He was preceded in death by his parents as well as a sister, Leanne Royston.
A Celebration of his Life will take place at a later date.
