Rosa Elizabeth Braun

Rosa Elizabeth Braun, 79 of Traverse City passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 08, 2012 at Bortz Health Care surrounded by her family.

Rosa was born on March 22, 1933 in Petersburg, VA to the late Dennis and Josephine (Wilkenson) Miles. She married Raymond C. Braun on December 12, 1953 in Fort Lee Virginia. After Raymond's time in the service they moved to Michigan.

Rosa was a devoted mother and homemaker. She liked to watch Soap Operas, game shows, especially Family Feud, and recently playing Bingo at Bortz. She enjoyed listening to Elvis, Old Country Gospel and going to the Polka Festival with her special Polka Friends. Rosa loved going to flea markets, spending time with her pets and camping with her family on Mullet Lake.

Surviving Rosa are her children, Raymond L. Braun, Carl D. Braun, Raye Marie (Douglas) Yanska, and Kenneth E. Braun, grandchildren, Carrie (Brian) Hatcher, Katherine (Fiancé Jeffery Lace) Yanska, and Benjamin Yanska, great grandson Tyler, a brother Elmo Miles, a sister Margaret (Glen) Blevins and many other loving family members and friends.

Rosa is preceded in death by her parents, husband, infant daughter Katie, and grandson Ryan Yanska.

Funeral Services will be held for Rosa at 1:30 pm on Wednesday, September 12, 2012 at the Trinity Lutheran Church with a visitation held one hour prior. Pastor Robert Zagore will serve as celebrant. Burial will take place at Oakwood Cemetery next to her husband. Memorial contributions may be directed to the Cherryland Humane Society.
