Traverse City - RoseMary Cooper, age 83, of Traverse City, passed away peacefully at home on September 16, 2016. RoseMary was born and raised in Grand Rapids, Michigan where she met and married the love of her life, Gerald (Jerry) Cooper in 1955. The family moved to the Old Mission Peninsula in 1968.
RoseMary never met a stranger. She worked at the Old Mission General Store for 24 years and enjoyed striking up a conversation with anyone who came through the door. She loved to travel with her husband, spending long winter vacations in Arizona and later many winter months in Florida once they retired. Jerry preceded her in death in 2011. RoseMary is survived by her brother, Mike (Leona) Szymanski of St. Louis, MO, sister, June Drew of Grand Rapids, MI, and Brother-in-law Bill (Gay) Cooper of East Lake, MI. Her children, Debbie Hall of Traverse City, MI and Jerry (Jackie) Cooper of Santa Clarita, CA. Grandchildren, Ron Hall, Jeff Hall & Todd (Kelli) Hall, all of Traverse City, Mathew (Kristin) Sherman of Jenison, MI, Michelle (Alan) Melton of House Springs, MO, and Kevin Cooper of New York, NY. RoseMary was also blessed with many great-grandchildren. Cremation has taken place, and a private celebration of her life was held Sunday, September 18, 2016 at the home of Todd & Kelli Hall.
