Rose Mary Kedrovicz, 96, of Traverse City, passed away on July 5, 2024, at 3:58 am, earning her ANGEL WINGS to Heaven.
Born on March 21, 1928, to Rudolph "Cap" and Nellie Kucera. Rosie was always an independent spirit. She loved being outdoors, relishing the four seasons of Northern Michigan and enjoyed the company of those who cared for her.
Rosie lived life to the fullest, working for over 46 years, during which she formed lasting friendships. Rosie graduated from Traverse City Central High class of 1946. She was the secretary of the reunion class. Rosie worked as a secretary for over 46 years. Rosie fell in love with Francis "Frenchie" Kedrovicz, and they married on June 8, 1952. Together, they shared a life rich with adventure. Rosie and Frenchie loved traveling, especially to Sault Ste. Marie to watch the freighters. During the winters, Rosie could be seen riding her snowmobile, and in the summer, she enjoyed boating. She was full of life and had a significant impact on everyone around her. She loved to play cards with family and friends and enjoyed boating and sunbathing.
Rosie was known for her independence, stubbornness, wit, her love for the color purple and above all, her loving nature. Her love shone brightly during the holiday season, as she was famous for her festive meals and legendary fish fries and her homemade Mac and Cheese dish. She welcomed family and friends with open arms, and her home was always a warm and inviting place.
Rosie is survived by: her only child Barbara J. and her husband John E Long of Traverse City, granddaughter Heather Forrester and Kazi Rahman, and great-grandson, Ishaan Rahman who live in Satellight Beach, Florida.
Her step-grandchildren and great-grandchildren, Michael Long and his fiancé Amanda Woder, and his children Mia Long of Allendale Michigan, and Aric Long of Traverse City, Katie, and her husband Andrew Holtz and their children Rebekah, Maggie, Wesley, Caroline of Allendale Michigan. And many nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by: her Husband Frenchie, her bother Robert (Inez) Kucera, and sister Arlene (Edwin) Larson. Her parents Rudolph "Cap" and Nellie (Prause) Kucera, in-laws, John and Laurie Courtade Kedrovicz, Brother and sister-in-law, Robert and (Coleen) Kedrovicz, and Doris (Donald) Monterusso.
A celebration of life will be held on July 19, 2024, at Reynolds Jonkhoff Funeral Home. Visitation will begin at 10-:30 am, with services at 11:30 am. A luncheon will follow the service of VFW off of Veterans Drive. Burial will follow at Memorial Gardens at 2 pm. A reception will follow after the burial.
