Rose May Pierce, 73, of Traverse City, and formerly of New Castle, IN., died Friday, July 22, 2016 at Munson Medical Center, following a brief illness, and brave fight.

Rose was born on Feb. 21, 1943 in East Liverpool Ohio, to the late Charles and Gertrude Price.

She married Edward Johnson and they had a son Edward "Gene" (Sue) Johnson. Rose later was married to Robert H. Pierce who passed in 1982. They had a son Scott (Jane) Pierce. She has 11 grand children and 7 great grand children with a great grand baby expected in August.

Known to many as Grandma Rose, she was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. She loved to cook for everyone and she enjoyed time with her friends and family.

A funeral service will be held for family and friends on Monday, July 25, 2016 at 11 a.m. at the Reynolds-Jonkhoff Funeral Home, with a visitation held one hour prior. Burial will take place on Tuesday at 1 p.m. at South Mound Cemetery in New Castle, Indiana.
