Rosemary M. Kennedy 94, of Traverse City passed away on Thursday, June 4, 2015 at Munson Medical Center. Rosemary was born on February 10, 1921 in L'Anse, Michigan to the late Modest and Florence (Bishop) Robert. She was married to Harry Kennedy, he predeceased her in 1974. Rosemary earned a Master's degree in remedial reading and she taught many kids as a reading specialist in the East Lansing Schools. She proudly served her country as a Navy Wave. In her spar time Rosemary loved collecting antique toys, reading poetry, knitting, bowling, golfing and playing bridge. Among her others interests Rosemary enjoy watching the stock market, she loved being on the water and she always had a dog.

Rosemary is survived by her loving daughter, Judith (Sander) Witlin of Brooklyn, NY. Also surviving are many special friends; Janet (Ed) Bryant, Lori (Jay) Merchant, Lynn Bryant, Nancy (Kevin) Sullivan, Doug Bryant and her namesake, Emme Rose Poutanen.

She was preceded in death by her three brothers.

A memorial service honoring Rosemary will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Sunday, June 7, 2015 at the Reynolds-Jonkhoff Funeral Home, 305 Sixth Street, Traverse City, MI 49684, with visiting from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service. Sheila Marker will officiate.
