Ross Calvin Hansford

Ross Calvin Hansford, 78 of Traverse City, passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 16, 2014 at Munson Medical Center with his loving wife at his side.
Ross was born on February 17, 1935 in Flint MI, to the late Albert and Alice W. (Bollis) Hansford. He married Diane C. Gilbert on June 18, 1960 in Saginaw MI.
Ross served our Country in the United States Army in an Engineering Unit. He served in Germany building and developing everything from bridges to soccer fields.
Upon returning from his time in service he went to work for General Motors. Ross was a dedicated assistant Master Mechanical Engineer for many years.
In his spare time Ross loved to play golf, woodworking and old cars. He was a life member of the Masons in Swartz Creek.
Surviving Ross is his wife Diane of 53 years, brother Walter (Jean) Hansford, sister-in-law Judy Scott, 7 nieces, 2 nephews, 2 grandnieces, one grandnephew and many special friends.
Ross is preceded in death by his parents, brother Albert Hansford, sister-in-law Margaret Hansford, and brother-in-law Donald Scott.
A memorial service in Ross's memory will be held in the spring. Memorial contributions may be directed to American Heart Association.
