Ross J. Martin Jr, 89 of Traverse City, passed away peacefully on Friday, July 12, 2013 at Tendercare of Traverse City.
Ross was born on February 16, 1924 in Thompsonville, MI to the late Ross and Florence (Strickland) Martin. He married Marion J. Willoughby on June 1, 1946 in Fife Lake, MI.
Ross honorably served our country in the United States Marine Corps. Following his time in service he went to work at Cone Drive as a devoted machinist for over 34 years. He was a member of the VFW and the DAV.
In his spare time Ross enjoyed gardening, yard work and playing cards.
Surviving Ross is his wife Marion of 67 years, brother Richard (Beatrice) Martin, sister Joyce Jarrett, niece Annabelle (Leland Sibole) Armstrong, nephews, Carl (Donna) Smith, and Timothy Smith and several other loving family members and friends.
Ross is preceded in death by his parents, siblings, Dawn Hempsted, Jack Martin, and Darwin Martin.
