Obituary

Rudolph George Lange, 95, of Traverse City died September 25, 2014 at Culver Meadows.

Rudy was born on July 10, 1919 in Chicago, IL to the late Theodor and Bertha (Edens) Lange.

After graduating from High School, Rudy studied economics and public utilities at Northwestern University, graduating in 1941. He then honorably served in the United States Army from 1943 to 1945 as a Rail Transport Officer in WWII. On March 10, 1948 Rudy married Jane Marie Ritzler in Dayton, OH. Rudy and Jane lived all over the country while working for the Pennsylvania Rail Road Company. In 1980 he retired and moved to Traverse City. Rudy and Jane were devoted members of First Congregational Church. He loved watching and keeping up with the Stock Market. Rudy also enjoyed talking politics with anyone.

Rudy was preceded in death by his wife Jane, sisters Emmy Pentecost, Frances Swanson, and Betty Lange.

Rudy is survived by his nephew Dennis (Kathy) Swanson of New Cannan CT., niece Karen (William) Horne of Wilmington, N.C., niece Jean LaNier, of Tampa, FL., niece, Sue (Rich Zagone) Ritzler of Oak Park, IL, nephew Ron (Tina) Ritzler of Riverside, IL, and niece Sally (Scott) Siegel of Milwaukee, WI.

A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, October 1, 2014 at 11:00 am at the First Congregational Church. Graveside services will follow in the Garden of Remembrance.
