Obituary

Ruth Magdalene Bornak, 95, of Lake City, passed away June 29, 2017 with her family by her side.
Ruth was born July 6, 1921 to the late Daniel and Anna (Keller) Krieg in Detroit.
She lived in the Detroit area for all her childhood years graduating from Lincoln High school in Ferndale in 1939.
On September 20, 1941 she married Arthur Bornak in Pontiac, Michigan.
Ruth spent many years as a switchboard operator for Bell Telephone prior to transferring to an Administrative Assistant for Reichhold Chemicals Inc. where she retired from.
After vacationing for many years on Lake Missaukee with family, Ruth and Arthur permanently moved to Lake City after retirement. She never lost sight of her beloved Detroit Tigers and still faithfully cheered them on into her final days.
Ruth loved to cook, and she was always trying new recipes. Her chicken paprikas and Hungarian cabbage rolls were family favorites. In retirement, she took up stained glass as a hobby, and created some beautiful art work.
The family would like to thank the entire staff at Munson's Heart Failure Clinic for the wonderful care that Ruth received.

Ruth is survived and missed dearly by her daughter Martha (Paul Tata) Bornak and her close friends Sue and Cully, and Marie. She will also be missed by Lulu her cat.
She is preceded in death by her husband Arthur, her son Alan and her brother Daniel.
Those wishing to send an expression of sympathy may do so to the Missaukee Humane Society; 5310 W Houghton Lake Rd, Lake City, MI 49651.
Per Ruth's wishes cremation has taken place. The family will be having a private celebration at a later date.
