Ruth Elaine Fralowicz, 76, of Traverse City and formerly of Detroit, passed away with her family at her side on Tuesday, March 26, 2013 at Munson Medical Center in Traverse City.
Our dearly beloved Ruth was born on May 25, 1936 to the late Anthony and Marie (Theida) Fralowicz in Detroit, MI. Ruth is survived by her sister Marilyn Kosmowski and brother Anthony Fralowicz. Ruth leaves to cherish her memories one son, Dean and daughter in-law Annemarie Smartz of Rockford, MI, two daughters; Carrie Smarczewski (Smartz) and Sandra Smartz of Fraser, two grandchildren, Kyle and Kayla Smartz, as well as many other loving family members and friends.
Ruth graduated from Warren Consolidated High School in 1954. She was proud of her polish heritage and the rich tradition of the area. Ruth and her sister Marilyn loved to dance and could often be found dancing and traveling with the Polish Lira Dance Club.
Ruth made her living as a book keeper and took the opportunity to make a change and move north to Traverse City over 20 years ago. Ruth had a talent with as a seamstress and working on crochet pieces. In earlier years she would enjoy archery, boating, and bowling. She will be missed by many however, the memories will live on.
A Memorial Mass will take place at Our Lady Queen of Heaven Catholic Church, 8200 Rolyat Street, Detroit, MI 48234 on Saturday, April 13 at 11:00 am, with Rev. Thomas Puzio officiating. The family will greet visitors from 10:00 am until 11:00 am also at the church.
