Ruth Ann Lyon

Acme - Ruth Ann Lyon, 93 of Acme joined her husband in Heaven on August 27, 2014 at Bortz Health Care.

Ruth was born on September 7, 1920 in Acme to the late Wilfred and Amy (Bussa) Hanna.

Ruth graduated from Williamsburg High School in 1938. After asking a handsome young man, named Clare to a Sadie Hawkins Dance, the two began dating and became high school sweet hearts. On October 6, 1940 they married in Traverse City. The two were a perfect example of true love. Prior to seat belts, the two always sat next to each other when riding in the car, with Clare's arm around Ruth's shoulder. They shared almost 70 years together before Clare passed away in 2010.

Ruth was the Nursing Supervisor for the Traverse City State Hospital for 25 years. Following retirement, Clare and Ruth spent six months in Earp, CA. They were members of the Williamsburg United Methodist Church, the Parker United Methodist Church in Parker, AZ. and the Model A Restorers Club.

In her spare time Ruth enjoyed rock hunting along the beach, traveling, riding her motorcycle, 4-wheeling in the Whipple Mountains and fishing. Ruth also liked to play cards.

Ruth is survived by her sons Thomas (Barbara) and Wilfred "Rusty" (Imelda), her daughter Pamela (Dennis) Leach, her grandchildren Clarissa (Chad) Johnston, Katy Leach, Kristin (Jeremie) Torok, Renee' Lyon, Jacob Lyon, Angel Aramburo Maldonado and Linda Rose Aramburo Maldonado and great granddaughter Kamrynn Jane Torok.

Ruth was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, and sisters Mildred Hanna and Della Weatherholt and brother William V. Hanna.

Memorial services will be held Saturday August 30, 2014 at 11 am with visitation 1 hour prior, at Williamsburg United Methodist Church. Pastor Nate Starkey will officiate.
