Ruth Maxine Johnson, 86, of Grawn passed away on Thursday, October 13, 2016 at the Grand Traverse Pavilions with her loving family at her side.
Ruth was born on February 24, 1930 in Bellaire, MI to the late Thomas and Grace (Dunson) Bush. She married the late Paul E. Johnson on July 24, 1948 in Traverse City. Together they shared 62 wonderful years together.
Ruth has lived in the Grawn area for over 40 years. She was a devoted homemaker and enjoyed raising her family. She took great pride in caring for her mother and husband when they needed her the most. Ruth was a devout member of St. Patrick Catholic Church and joined when the Parish first opened its doors.
In her spare time she enjoyed sewing, crafts and refinishing furniture. Also, Ruth was a terrific baker. Her chocolate drop cookies and her chocolate cake with fluffy white frosting will never be forgotten. Most importantly Ruth loved her family and she loved to spend time with all of them. Her smile and loving personality will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
