Ruth E. Peppler, 89, born in Detroit Michigan, is survived by her son. John A. Peppler, has passed away on Wednesday, November 13, 2024 at Munson Hospice House.
Ruth was best known for her creative arts and crafts; which included quilting, stamping, tole painting, sewing, and others; and her delicious cooking. Ruth did not skimp on butter or sugar to make all things taste great.
She realized her dream of "living in the country" by moving up to northern Michigan to be closer to her son and his wife Denise. It was a relocation both bitter and sweet, precipitated by the death of her husband of 65 years, Frank. Ruth was also preceded in death by her daughter Lynn D'Alleva (Suzie).
Ruth's goal in life was to remain independent and do everything herself, and boy did she do that! She has made her mark in northern Michigan as the library circulation ladies remember her enjoying cooking magazines and always looking "classy and put together".
Ruth will be missed by more people than we may realize, but probably most by her closest niece, Janet, who visited her often and shared Ruth's love of reading (and cats). Janet furnished her with many care packages of books and other items.
In lieu of flowers, those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider a memorial donation to Toys for Tots.
