TRAVERSE CITY – Ruth W. Johnson, age 83, of Traverse City passed away Tuesday, May 11, 2021 at her home.
Ruth was born in Springfield, OH on April 19, 1938 to the late William and Mary (Huber) Williamson. Ruth lived in Springfield, OH, Kent, OH and Midland before moving to Traverse City in 1989. She earned both her BA and MA from Wittenburg University. Ruth was a member of First Congregational Church. She enjoyed golfing, reading, and gardening. She married Richard C. Johnson on May 27, 1971 in Springfield, OH.
Ruth is survived by her daughter, Karen (Brian) Hughey, KS, grand-daughter, Kristina Hughey, KS, grandson, Robert Hughey, KS. Ruth was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Richard Johnson, sisters, Joan Leeth, Jeanette Taylor and Wanda Engle, and brothers Ned, Donald and James and Daniel Williamson.
A celebration of Ruth's life will be held at First Congregational Church at a later date.
