Samuel Eli Evans, 80, of Traverse City, passed away peacefully on July 28, 2022.

Sam was born on February 22, 1942 in Kalkaska, MI to the late Archie and Arvena Evans.

Sam was a proud member of the Grand Traverse Band of Ottawa and Chippewa Indians. He worked many years for the tribe in the communications department.

Honorably, Sam served our Country in the United States Army in Vietnam and Germany for 5 five years as a Helicopter Mechanic.

His kind, quite but brilliant soul will be deeply missed by all those who knew and loved him.

Sam is survived by his life partner Judy Watkins of over 30 years and several other family members and friend's.

He is preceded in death by his parents, and brothers Gary and Steve.

Private family services will take place.
