TRAVERSE CITY — Sarah "Darlene" Jones, 83, of Traverse City, passed away Sunday, Feb. 6, 2011.Darlene was born Sept. 1, 1927, in Traverse City, to the late John and Sarah (Sieffert) Harrison. She married Robert James Jones in Manton on Jan. 28, 1956. Darlene proudly lived in the Greenville and Grand Traverse areas her entire life. She retired from Western Union as a bookkeeper in 1956. She enjoyed doll-collecting and spending time with her family.Surviving Darlene are her brother, Thayle (Beverly) Harrison; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Darlene was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; her daughter, Suzann J. Balfour; brothers, Datus, Jack and Wilmer Harrison; and her sister, Donna Grewe.The family would like to give their heartfelt thanks to the Bauer and Clous families for always lovingly watching over Darlene.A graveside service and inurnment will take place in the spring at the Down's Cemetery in Buckley.
