Scott Russell Trainer

Scott R. "Bo" Trainer, 65, of Traverse City, passed away January 24, 2017 at his home. Scott was born on June 26, 1951 in Detroit, the son of Russell and Elaine Trainer. He and his wife Sarah were married on April 11, 1995 in Traverse City.
For over 30 years, Scott was employed at Sara Lee and then worked for Lutheran Social Services in adult foster care. He loved all sorts of sports, watching movies and enjoyed a chocolate malt whenever possible. He loved his animals and was a cancer survivor.
Scott is survived by his son Eric (Ashlee) Trainer of Traverse City; step-son Joseph (Robin) Dowdy of Traverse City, step-daughter Theresa Dowdy of TN and his beloved grandchildren, Carter and Quintin Trainer, Whitney Fraser, Adam Richey, Mariah Richey, Isaac and Emily Dowdy and Lauren Trainer; his brothers Mike and Mark and his sister Kate. He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife Sarah.
