Sharen Louise Holstine's Obituary
Sharen Louise (Fillmore) Holstine, 64, of Traverse City, MI, passed away peacefully on April 28, 2025, surrounded by loved ones.
Born on September 15, 1960, along with her twin sister Karen, Sharen was preceded in death by her parents, Harris Harper and Mary Madelyn Fillmore.
She is survived by her husband of nearly 45 years, James (Jim) Holstine; children Jeremy Holstine (Jennifer LaMont), Jessica (Brian J.) Morel, and Shaun (Cathryn) Holstine; grandchildren; Katelyn (Nate), Jacob (Jamie Flanagin), Cameron, Braden, Kendall, Mason, Maxwell & Tucker, great-grandchildren; Nevaeh, Serenity & Wesson; sisters Brenda (Lennie) Mailand, Lynda (Doug) Scheel and Karen (Greg) Wright, along with many nieces and nephews.
Sharen found great happiness in time spent with loved ones—around a campfire singing, fishing on the lake, cheering on the Red Wings, or gathering for Thanksgiving, where her homemade impossible pumpkin pie was always a favorite. She had a green thumb, a love for koala bears, and a sparkle for all things gold and shimmering. Her adventurous spirit led her to tropical vacations and frequent visits to the casino.
To know Sharen was to feel her warmth, joy, and "come as you are" attitude. Her presence lit up every room, and her laughter left an imprint on the hearts of everyone she met. She will be deeply missed by her family and friends, but her spirit will live on in every family gathering, every blooming orchid, and every golden sunrise by the water.
A celebration of Sharen's life will be held in Sacred Heart Church in Elk Rapids, MI on Thursday, May 15th, at 11am with visitation beginning at 10am. A luncheon will follow with time to gather, share memories and enjoy refreshments.
Memorial contributions in lieu of flowers may be directed to Munson Hospice House or to Cowell Family Cancer Center. Both took such great care of her, and the family is so thankful for their support.
