Obituary

Sharon Sue Gloshen, age 79, of Traverse City, Michigan passed away quietly in her sleep on Tuesday, March 3, 2026, while in Traverse City. Sharon was born on December 15, 1946, in Detroit, Michigan to John and Virginia (Hunt) McDonald.

Sharon was the eldest of four children growing up in Detroit and then later in her teenage years in the Brighton, Michigan area. She attended Howell Area schools then relocated to Traverse City in 1973 to enter Northwestern Michigan College Dental program for Dental Assistant.

She married William (Randy) Randolph Gloshen on April 22, 1977, at Liberty Baptist Church in Grawn, Michigan. Together they raised four children, Steve, Tim, Rachel, and Mark. Early in their marriage the family was blessed to move and live in Buenos Aires, Argentina where Sharon embraced the Argentine cultural, food, and made lifelong friendships. Two and a half years later, another unique opportunity relocated the family to Cairo, Egypt. Sharon enjoyed many special times in and around Cairo, from camel tours at the pyramids, to shopping at the Bazar's where merchants sold many unique cultural products. Sharon would eventually return to Traverse City in 1988 for good, following a short time in Lubbock, Texas.
Sharon attended and worshipped at Bayview Wesleyan Church on Bay St., Traverse City where she also taught Sunday school.

To know Sharon meant that you knew her children and grandchildren were of the utmost importance to her. She shared their joys and challenges. Time and time again, she came alongside each one of them in their trials of life only to see them through. There is nothing more Priceless than Sharon's love for those around her. Sharon shared her faith in Jesus Christ, prayed without ceasing for so many, and sharpened those she encountered. Praise Jesus for her beautiful life and sharing it with family, friends, and the church.

Sharon is survived by her children, Steve (Robin), Tim (Betty), Rachel (Ken), Mark; grandchildren, Matthew (Amanda), Samantha, Zachary, Alexander (Emma); great grandchildren, Bontae, Isaiah, Brianna, Kaci; brother, Lou, sister Anita (Gale), and brother, Ray (Penny).

She was preceded in death by her parents; grandmother, (Granny) Nora (Hunt) Baker.

The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the caring staff at Culver Meadows for their care and compassion for Sharon.
