Sharon Kay Latimer, 71, of Traverse City and formerly of Warren, died Thursday, April 25, 2013 at Bortz Health Care in Traverse City.

Sharon was born on Tuesday, September 2, 1941 to the late Robert and Elma (Brown) Latimer in Lansing. A graduate of Royal Oak High School, Sharon continued her education at Michigan State University and then worked as a Medical Laboratory Technician until her retirement. She moved to Traverse City in 2011 to be near her sister.

Sharon loved to cook and bake, and enjoyed music and working cross-stitch.

She is survived by her sister Joan (Charlie) Chamberlain of Traverse City; her niece Robin (Stephen) Nance and nephew Randy (Mari) Chamberlain, all of Traverse City, a nephew, Brian (Cathy) Chamberlain of Jackson, TN, great nieces and nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents and her nephew Charles (Chas) Chamberlain, III.

Private family services will be held. Following cremation, interment will be in Grand Traverse Memorial Gardens.
