Sharon Ione Wilhelm, 78 of Traverse City, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family on Tuesday, March 12, 2013.
Sharon was born on June 3, 1934 in Minot, North Dakota to the late Fred and Edna (Chamberland) Marcoe. She married James Wilhelm in 1952 and later divorced but remained friends.
Sharon and Jim proudly owned the Torch Crest Grocery Store. After they sold the store Sharon went on to run three different elderly care homes in Florida, Pennsylvania and Michigan. She loved to crochet and knit and made beautiful afghans. Cooking also brought great pleasure to Sharon.
Sharon will be fondly remembered as a wonderful mother, grandmother and great grandmother and she will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
Surviving Sharon are her children, Robert Wilhelm and Kim Waller, grandchildren Michael (Erin) Waller, Chad Waller, Emma Rose Wilhelm, great grandchildren Mackenzie and Peyton Waller and many other loving family members and friends.
Sharon was preceded in death by her parents and siblings Barney, Glenn, Robert, Louella and Kathleen.
