Sharon Elise Williams, 70, of Traverse City, Michigan, passed away unexpectedly at her home on Friday, March 17, 2023. She was born on April 28, 1952, in El Paso, Texas to the late Samuel and Margaret (McGavock) Woodward.

On November 7, 1975, she married Joseph F. Williams, Jr. in Miami, Florida where he was stationed in the Coast Guard. As they were transferred from base to base, Sharon was a homemaker and they had four daughters. She loved being a Mom, but she especially loved being a Grandma.

Although we are sad, we know she is with Jesus. We will remember her as the woman who taught us how important family was; to always help someone in need and show kindness; to document every moment because at some point you may forget; and each holiday and birthday is better with festive decorations.

Surviving Sharon is her husband, Joe; four daughters, Catherine Williams, Jennifer (Craig) Jones, Amanda (Ben) Adams, and Sarah (Ulysses) Lennon; eight grandchildren, Tristen Williams, Erica Jones, Riley, Piper, and Aubrey Adams, and Ulyssia, Gidyun, and Gauge Lennon, all of the Traverse City area. Sharon is also survived by her brother, Theron Woodward; special friends, Lana Hodges and Jenny Cunningham, and all of her scrapbooking friends whom she loved dearly. She also leaves behind her beloved cats and dogs.

A memorial service will take place on Thursday, March 23, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. with visitation beginning at 10:00 a.m., at the Reynolds Jonkhoff Funeral Home, 305 Sixth St., Traverse City, Michigan 49684.
