Obituary

Shirley May Beaujean, age 92, passed away December 18, 2019 in Traverse City, Michigan. She was born in Mt. Clemens on June 16, 1927 to the late Harry Eberts and Elizabeth (Behn) Brad. She was raised by her beloved grandmother, Susan Behn. ON May 31, 1947, she married Richard Emil Beaujean in St. Clair Shores.

She grew up in Mt. Clemens and raised her children in Roseville, She and Richard moved to Lake Ann to be with family in 2009. Shirley graduated from East Detroit High School in 1976. She attended Macomb Community College. Shirley was a homemaker and food service employee for Ford Motor Company and K-Mart.

Shirley had a passion for reading. She would frequently consume an entire book in one day. She enjoyed long walks, cards, baseball, roller skating and gymnastics. She never missed a high school sporting event her children participated in. She read the Bible and was a privately devout Christian.

Shirley is survived by her children, Ann Beaujean and husband, Mark Perry of Lake Ann; Richard L. Beaujean and wife Rhoda of Vassar; grandchildren, MIchelle (Jeff) Mayes of Bay City and Jennifer Beaujean of Cheboygan; Jack, Megan and Samuel Perry; and great-grandchildren Brayden and Kelsey Mayes. Also surviving is stepbrother Larrey Eberts of Big Rapids.

In addition to her husband, Shirley was preceded in death by her parents; siblings, James and Harry Eberts, Dorothy Elgart, Joyce Regal, Mary Stout and son-in-law Steven David Clark.

A memorial lundeon will be held at 1:00 PM on February 8, 2020 at LIno's Italian Restaurant, 50 West Tienken Road, Rochester, MI 48306. The family has asked that memorial contributions in Shirley's name be directed to a charity of one's own choosing. Burial will take place at Greenbriar Cemetery in Lake Ann next spring.

The family is being cared for by the Reynolds-Jonkhoff Funeral Home and Cremation Services.
