Shirley Ann Burns, age 91, of Traverse City, was called to her Heavenly Home on Tuesday, May 27, 2025.
Shirley was born on July 22, 1933 to the late George & Minnie (Geddert) Bilow. She grew up on a farm in Onaway, MI and enjoyed taking care of the animals. After graduating from high school in 1952, Shirley moved to Traverse City with her parents and spent her life raising her three kids. She enjoyed attending church with her wonderful friends and loved to laugh.
In addition to her parents, Shirley was preceded in death by her husband, Bill Burns, and infant daughter, Debra Ann.
She is survived by her children, Michael Taylor, Richard (Rhonda) Taylor, Karen (Jessie) Bolado; grandchildren, Jason, Alexander Joseph ("AJ"), Jacob, Jamison, Emma; great grandchildren, Makayla, Amelia, and Zander.
A private family Graveside Service will be held at Grand Traverse Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to the American Society for Breast Cancer Research. To leave a message for the family, please visit www.reynolds-jonkhoff.com .
