Shirley Jean Bush-Green

Shirley Jean (Calkins) Bush-Green, 73, of Traverse City passed away on July 14, 2014 peacefully at home surrounded by her family after a short term illness.
Shirley was born on May 21, 1941 in Ionia County, the oldest of four children, to the late Clifford and Alice (Moorman) Calkins.
After several years of being a social worker for Ionia County, she found a new path to travel after dedicating her life to Jesus in the early 80's. Shirley found the love of her life and married Louis Raymond Green on November 8, 1998 who lovingly held her hand as she took her final journey home.
Shirley is preceded in death by her eldest son, Michael A. Long II and survived by her siblings, Rosalie (James) Patton, Robert (Susan) Calkins, and Bette Rynerson.
Also surviving are her 6 children: Valeree Kadrovach, Joel Long, Melissa Stegman (Michael Kanir), Eric Long (Teresa Lynn) and twins Patrick (Becky) Bush II and Tonja (Randy) Bush-Borgen, along with 16 grandchildren: Addam, Justin and Elijah Kadrovach; Nathan, Aaron and Troy Long; Joshua, Jeremiah, Wesley and Faithmarie Stegman; Eric 2 and Chelsea Long; Amanda and Alex Bush; Jessica Borgen; Angelea Chisolm with 17 (and a half) great-grandchildren and numerous other family members.
A memorial service will be held at Reynolds Jonkhoff Funeral Home on Monday, July 21, 2014 at 6:00 p.m. The visitation starts at 5:00 p.m. Monetary gifts to help the family with Shirley's recent medical expenses may be made to the family or directed to the funeral home.( envelopes will be provided at service) and are greatly appreciated.
