Shirley Ann Enger, 88, passed into Heaven peacefully from her home on Friday, February 28, 2020. She was born in St. Charles, Michigan on March 24, 1931. Preceded in death by her parents, Ivan and Edna Griffiths, brother Kenneth Griffiths, sisters Edna Griffiths and Elain Krivick, her husband of 59 years, Jack Enger, and son Jack Enger Jr.
She leaves behind her legacy of two beloved sons, Tom (Donna Schichtel) Enger and David (Deborah) Enger. Also, daughter-in-law Shelley Enger, sisters Eleanor (Leo) Ruzowski, Mary (Edwin) Walker, as well as eight grandchildren and many great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, devoted friends and cherished dog, Peanut.
She owned and operated School Haus Square Ceramics, first out of her home and later expanded to a historic school house that she purchased in Traverse City. Shirley was a gifted painter and crafter, who was self-taught. Shirley enjoyed many adventures such as hunting, fishing, and snowmobiling with her husband. She relished spending summertime with her husband, sons, and grandchildren swimming in her pool and eating chicken from KFC. She loved to visit with family in the Saginaw area. Her happiest roles in life were those of wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and aunt.
Though she faced some tribulations in her life, she persevered and her love for her family never wavered.
In accordance with her wishes, no services are planned at this time. Shirley will be laid to rest beside her husband, Jack, whom she has joyfully reunited with in Heaven.
