Shirley Ann Egeler, 78, of Traverse City, passed away on February 14, 2014 at her home. She passed away seven years to the day as her beloved brother and best friend, Leslie Petroskey. Shirle y was born on December 30, 1935 in Traverse City to the late John and Genevieve (LaCross) Petroskey. Shirley was a wonderful mother and grandmother. She loved spending with her family. Especially cooking and providing food for them. She had a deep faith and was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church.

Shirley is survived by her daughters; Patricia Egeler, Cheryl Hall, Jenny Stevenson, Geri (Johnny) L McQuigg; sons, Danny (Peggy) Egeler, Douglas (Sandra) Egeler, Timothy Egeler; a sister, Jacqueline Rodebaugh; 19 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren and a great-great-grandson. Also surviving are many beloved nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by a daughter, Tina Flees and five brothers and three sisters.

A memorial mass honoring Shirley will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 20, 2014 at St. Francis Catholic Church, 1025 S. Union St. Rev. Fr. Polycarp Mblarawa will officiate.

Friends are welcome to visit with the family at the church on Thursday from 12:00 noon until the time of Mass. Shirley's family will prayer the rosary on Thursday at 12:30 p.m. prior to Mass.

In lieu of flowers those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider a donation to the St. Francis Catholic Church Food Pantry.
