Shirley Kay McQueer, 81, of Traverse City, died Sunday, August 16, 2015 at The Villa at Traverse Point in Traverse City.
Shirley was born on Sunday, May 27, 1934 to the late Harry and Norma (Hutton) Domine in Traverse City. She married Floyd D. "Ike" McQueer on September 24, 1950 in Traverse City and he preceded her in death on April 19, 1998.
Working as a cook for Tendercare for many years, Shirley also was a homemaker. She was a collector of fine ceramics and was a member of Peninsula Bible Church.
She is survived by her sons, Dennis (Peggy) of Florida, Gaylord (Janice) of Mayfield, Kelly (Debbie) of Interlochen and Tony (Patricia) of Florida. Also surviving are eight grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren, and other extended family. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her son Michael Patrick, killed in Viet Nam on Nov. 11, 1969, by a daughter, Lisa in 1957, a brother Jack Domine and daughter in law Sherrie McQueer.
The Memorial Service for Shirley will take place at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, August 26 at the Reynolds-Jonkhoff Funeral Home, with her son, Pastor Tony McQueer officiating. Burial will be in Grand Traverse Memorial Gardens.
