Shirley Ann Yokeum, age 77 of Traverse City, went to be with the Lord on December 31, 2012 at her home surrounded by her family.

Shirley was born on September 7, 1935 to Winfield and Margaret (Dalrymple) Chandler in Traverse City, MI.

Shirley graduated from Traverse City Central High in 1953. Prior to retirement she was employed at the T.C.R.P.H for many years.

She enjoyed knitting, crocheting, coin collecting, playing cards, Tiger baseball and most importantly spending time with her family. Her grandchildren and great grandchildren were the "apple of her eyes." Shirley will be sincerely missed by her family and friends.

Shirley is survived by her children, Linda (Bob) Sniff of Traverse City, Marcia (Martin) Hayward of Kansas City, Lori (Jerry) Maue of Jenison, MI, Bill Yokeum of CA, and Mike (Debbie) Yokeum of Walker, MI, grandchildren, Mike (Susan), Erin (Mark), Jason, Kim (Jay), Matt, Chris, Nick, Maddie, Adam, Bridget and Hillary, great grandchildren, Keisha, Charity, Evan, Ella, Kayla and Jayden, sister, Joyce Weathers, sister-in-law Betty Chandler and many other loving family members and friends.

Shirley is preceded in death by her parents, brother Don Chandler, sister Betty O'Dell, and grandson Bradley Yokeum.

No services are planned at this time. Memorial contributions may be directed to Hospice of Michigan at HOM.org < http://HOM.org > or Grand Traverse County Commission on Aging at 400 S. Boardman Ave, Traverse City MI. Both of whom made it possible for her to remain in the comfort of her own home until her passing .
