Silvius Pilot Ferrole, 86, of Traverse City, and formerly of Clinton Township, passed away Tuesday, October 1, 2019 at his home,

Silvius was born on Thursday, September 28, 1933 to the late John and Veronica (Hearden) Ferrole in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada. The family later returned to their homestead in Romania during the depression here. Silvius would later return to Canada and then to the Detroit area. He married Peggy J. (Byrd) on July 6, 1985 in Grosse Pointe Woods.

Silvius was a tool and die maker for Chrysler Corporation. He was very talented at his occupation and was totally dedicated to his work. He was sought out often as the "expert" and worked until he was 75 years of age. He was an avid gun collector and was very knowledgeable about the guns. He would take them apart and rebuild them, was called upon to appraise guns, and was often called to a local gunsmith shop when they couldn't fix or appraise a certain gun. He also collected cameras, but specifically watches, which he would take apart. Silvius was committed to his Christian faith and was a member of Grosse Pointe Woods Baptist Church.

Surviving Silvius is his wife Peggy; children, John of Farmington, Veronica Marlow of VA, Mike of TN, Sandy (Randy) Kaminski of Rudyard, Robert (Brenda) King of Frederic, Misty (Brian) Franklin of Traverse City and grandchildren, Joshua, Benjamin (Laura), Andrew, Jacob and Elijah Kaminski, April Hils, and Zachary, Trevor and Jacob Franklin. Also surviving is his sister Lydia Strickland of Walled Lake. He was preceded in death by a brother.

Family services will be held in Traverse City and then services will follow at the Strunk Funeral Home in Whitley City, KY with burial in the family plot at Pine Knot Cemetery in Pine Knot, KY.
