Skylar Shaye Light, 21, became an angel on May 17, 2022. She was born in Traverse City, September 21, 2000 to Brian and Wendy (Carlson) Light.

Skylar graduated Traverse City Central's class of 2018. She will be remembered as being funny and full of life; a kind-hearted and sweet person. She loved her family and had a special bond with both of her parents.

Skylar loved to travel and especially enjoyed her trips to Disney and Universal Studios. Harry Potter was an absolute favorite of hers. On several occasions, Skylar was able to go to concerts which she enjoyed very much. She also loved movies. She worked at Sephora and enjoyed her coworkers as well as working with customers.

Being that Skylar was an animal lover, she completed a veterinary assistant course through NMC. She was a very artistic and creative person.

Skylar leaves behind both her parents; grandmother Marie Carlson; aunts and uncles Deb, Wade, and Shane Carlson, Loralyn Light (David Parks), Claudia Light, Leslie Light and Zack Light (Jan Gasnik) and cousins Reese, Hailey, Lindsey and Hanna.

She was preceded in death by grandparents Wilfred "Pete" Carlson and Jack and Joan Light; uncle Phil Carlson and cousins Acacia and Ashley.

A memorial service for Skylar will be held Thursday, June 2, 11:00AM, at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, Traverse City. Visitation will begin at 10:00AM and continue until the time of service.
