Stanley "Stan" Akey, age 84 of Traverse City, passed away Friday, October 25th, 2024.
Stan was a graduate of Central Michigan University, started his career at General Motors at the Saginaw Grey Iron facility, where he worked for over 20 years. Later in life, he became the President of Hi-Tech Videos in Traverse City. After retirement he traveled the world following his passion of fly fishing. Stan was a great father, entrepreneur and avid fisherman.
He is preceded in death by his parents: Harold and Irene (Tatch) Akey: and his sister Laura Jean.
He is survived by his children Kevin (Michelle) Akey, Michelle Pearson; grandchildren: Darian (Tory) Shand, Soleil, Cierra, Sepp, Bode; brother Neil (Roberta) Akey and very good friend Brian Donner.
Per Stan's wishes, cremation will take place and no formal service will be held. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to a charity of choice.
