Stanton George Vincent Hart

Stanton George Vincent Hart, of Traverse City, Michigan, previously of St. Stephen, New Brunswick, Canada, passed away peacefully at the age of 87, on January 12, 2014. He was born in Montreal, Quebec, Canada to the late Esther and Harold (Pete) Hart.
He was a U.S. Air Force veteran and graduated from the University of Michigan with a degree in Forestry in 1949. Stan spent his working life in forest management in the northeastern U.S. and both western and eastern Canada. He lived a life of contribution, giving generously of his time and energy to charitable organizations such as Big Brothers Big Sisters and Lifeline in St. Stephen, New Brunswick, Canada.
Stan was married to the love of his life, Ruth Brady Hart, for 60 years, and was a loving father to his two children, Linda Hart Laughlin and Peter Hart. His family always knew they were cherished and at the center of his world.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Esther Elizabeth Hart and Harold (Pete) Vincent Hart.
Stan is survived by his wife, Ruth Brady Hart, his daughter, Linda Elizabeth Hart Laughlin and her husband, Fred Laughlin, his son, Peter Lincoln Hart and fiancée, Dorothy Schmauder, his grandson, Peter John Laughlin, his grandson, David Stanton Laughlin and wife, Kristin Laughlin, and his sister, Camilla Kneale.
There will be a celebration of Stan's life at 1:30pm on Saturday, January 18 in the chapel at Central United Methodist Church in Traverse City.
The family would like to thank family and friends who are traveling long distances to be with us, as well as everyone who has provided love and support during this time.
