Stephanie "Cis" Marie Hiler passed away peacefully on September 25, 2023 in the presence of her loving daughters.

Stephanie was born in Arkansas August 31,1952, to Woodrow and Dovie Downey. She grew up in Coloma Michigan. She was in the middle of 9 kids and was quickly nicknamed Cissy by her siblings. She would then go by Cissy to all who knew her well for the rest of her life. Cis married Dewey Hiler in 1976. They would eventually move to Traverse City where they were residents for over 30 years. Cis spent 20 years in the road construction business. In the 1980's she was one of the few women in the state who would manage gravel pits, do testing and run front end loaders.

She was also called Mrs. Aggregate. On a good day you could find her enjoying the beautiful Northern Michigan Summers, maybe fishing on a boat or just relaxing outside. She also enjoyed her true crime TV and cryptograms. Cissy loved her big family and always enjoyed seeing her brothers and sisters.

She is preceded in death by her husband Dewey, her brothers Mike Downey, Stan Downey and her nephew Scott Downey.
She is survived by her children. Daughter's Chastity Hiler, Sarah (Nathan) Sweeney Stepchildren; Jennifer (Toby) Wenzel and Dewey Hiler Jr grandchildren; Jane and Elliot Sweeney, Katelyn (Justin) Weaver and great granddaughter Iris Weaver. Siblings; Wayne (Sandy) Downey Larry (Dovie) Downey, Guy (Judy) Downey, Theresa Stark, Kim Copeman, and Keith Downey, Sister's in-law Sue Downey and Diane Downey and several nieces and nephews.

She was proud of all her kids and would especially boast to anyone who would listen about her grandkids and great grandchild. She will be missed greatly but we know with the hope of heaven this isn't goodbye but see you later.

Visitation will be held from 2-3pm and funeral services will begin at 3pm on Friday October 6,2023 at Reynolds-Jonkhoff Funeral Home. The family is inviting friends of Stephanie to the reception following the service at the American Military League located at 2423 Sybrandt Rd, Traverse City, MI 49684.
