Stephen Wayne Howard, 55, formerly of Traverse City, passed away on May 20, 2023 in North Carolina.

Steve was born on January 29, 1968 in Rochester, MI. He graduated from Traverse City St. Francis High School in 1986.

Steve had a great sense of humor and was quite the storyteller! He loved to make people laugh. He enjoyed photography and spending time with his family and friends. He enjoyed his position at OPW and working with his colleagues in North Carolina. He loved being an uncle to his nieces and nephews.

Steve is survived by his beloved child Max, and Max's mom Tracey. He is also survived by his siblings Lee (Allison) Howard, Brian (Evelyn) St. John, Melanie (Mike) Pilon, Lisa Vandenbrink, Paul (Alyssa) St. John and Mike (Melissa) St. John, and many nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles. He is also survived by his partner Traci, and his dad Robert St. John.

Steve was proceeded in death by his mom Linda St. John, grandparents Basil and Betty Popa, Ruben and Catherine St. John, and nephew Michael St. John, Jr.

Funeral Services will be held at 3pm on Saturday, June 3, 2023 at Reynolds-Jonkhoff Funeral Home, with visitation from 5 – 7pm on Friday, June 2, 2023. Burial will take place at the Grand Traverse Memorial
